- Echoes of the dead: Newly single Dianne Price drowns in her bathtub and then staged to look like a bride. When more murders follow, the detectives realize that the cases bear eerie similarities to notorious murders of the past
- The Oblong murders: Barnaby and Jones investigate the mysterious disappearance of a member of the new-age cult the Oblong Foundation, leading DCI Barnaby to send DS Jones undercover where Jones learns more details about other cult members' earlier deaths
